I like to keep my classroom structured but not too rigid, I want students to feel comfortable and engaged while still knowing what’s expected of them. I set clear rules from the start, but I also focus on building respect and trust. I use positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour, and when challenges come up, I handle them calmly and fairly. Every student is different, so I try to adapt my approach to what works best for the group. My goal is to create a space where students enjoy learning, feel heard, and stay motivated. 

I keep my students engaged by making lessons feel like real conversations rather than just lectures. I bring in relatable examples, ask open-ended questions, and encourage discussions where everyone’s voice matters. I love using stories, humour, and hands-on activities to make learning fun and memorable. Sometimes, a simple shift, like letting students explain concepts to each other, keeps them actively involved. I also pay attention to their energy levels and adjust my approach if I sense they’re losing focus. At the end of the day, if they feel connected to what they’re learning, they’ll stay engaged naturally. 

My professional development has been a journey of continuous learning. Earning my TEFL/TESOL certification was just the beginning, I’ve grown the most through hands-on teaching and student interactions. I actively seek new methods by attending workshops, taking courses, and learning from fellow educators. Feedback from students has been my greatest teacher, helping me refine my approach. I believe growth never stops, so I stay open to new ideas and improvements. Every class is a chance to learn, adapt, and become a better educator.
